Calling all artists! Burlington Public Library’s (BPL) annual Burlington
Bookmarks contest is underway. This year’s theme is “be inspired by your
favourite book.”

How it works
Burlington residents young and old are encouraged to get creative and submit their design. You can pick up a paper submission form at any library branch or download one online. Whether you draw with markers and pencils, or use digital illustration software, your design will be considered as long as it stays inside the bookmark outline.

Submit your bookmark at your local branch or upload it to the library’s website by February 12th to be considered. Finalists will be chosen in four age categories, and their designs will be posted online for public voting.

Spread the love of reading
What do the winners get? The joy of spreading the love of reading! The four winning bookmarks will be professionally printed and distributed to library branches for customers to enjoy in their next great read.

“This tradition is something our readers really enjoy,” says Tammy Csajaghy,
Manager of Programming & Partnerships at Burlington Public Library. “Readers young and old get a kick out of knowing a fellow BPL member created the bookmark they are using to hold their place.”

Follow along online
Keep tabs on the contest by checking the library’s website and social media channels (@BurlOnLibrary) for contest updates and voting. If you want to make sure you get your hands on one of 2023’s winning bookmarks, keep a close eye out! The free bookmarks will be available first come, first served, while supplies
last.
