By Lee-Ann Meyer, volunteer at the Burlington Humane Society

I thought I’d introduce myself.

I’m Bonsai and I had a really “ruff” start to life. I was tied up under a porch for the first two years of my life. I was rescued by some really kind people after my life was threatened and brought to the Burlington Humane Society during the summer of 2022.

I am a neutered medium-size handsome boy, brindle in colour and a mixed breed. A mix of awesomeness, energy and love. I’m two years and five months old.

As you can imagine, I need a slow introduction to strangers and need to be in a home without any other pets. No cats and no dogs, as I was never socialized. No young children due to my jumping and nervousness around strangers.

I have a habit of jumping up on people. The jumping is due to me being tied up for so long, without the freedom to run or walk. All I could do was jump when I wanted attention or when someone came onto the property. I promise to keep working on my manners.

I’m very loving and affectionate with the people I trust. I love to play fetch and I love my squeaky balls. I’m also a celebrity, as I was the first dog in the Nelson Pool at the first Pool Palooza for dogs in Burlington to end off the 2022 summer season.

I enjoyed my car rides with the volunteers and I’ve been living in a loving foster home since September 2022.

Please would you give me chance at happiness by offering me a space in your heart and your home? If you would like to meet me, please complete the online adoption application form at www.burlingtonhumane.ca or contact the shelter for me information
