Halton District School Board (HDSB) is offering students the opportunity to explore donated formal-wear options at open house events in March and April.

HDSB’s Fashion Forward program sees generous Halton residents donating new or gently-used clothing in current styles for students to wear for proms, graduation, or for other formal events, at no cost to the students. Options include formal dresses, party dresses, formal suits, dress shirts, and ties, as well as shoes and accessories for students to choose from, in a range of sizes, colours, and styles.

The Burlington open house will be held at New Street Education Centre, 3250 New Street, on Saturday, March 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If any gender diverse students wish to browse more privately, they may choose to shop between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

There will also be two open house events in Milton, at Elsie MacGill Secondary School, 1410 Bronte St. S., on Mon., April 17 and Thurs., April 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on those dates.

To shop at any of these open house Fashion Forward events, students must bring their student identification.
