Sept. 19, 2022 — Press release from Appleby Line Street Festival

The Appleby Line Street Festival, a free family-fun community event, will open the street for the neighbourhood to gather and participate in activities, a marketplace, and demonstrations hosted by local community groups and businesses on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The annual festival includes the Burlington Teen Tour Band, at 2 p.m. and includes live busker entertainment, pony rides, a classic car display, bouncy castles, and a kids-zone. Residents should note that Appleby Line will be closed to traffic between New and Fairview Streets from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We are pleased to bring back this popular festival after missing it for a couple years due to the pandemic,” said Cornelius Sawatzky. “It has grown tremendously over the years due to the dedicated efforts by committed volunteers from our community. They have worked diligently behind the scenes to bring this popular event to the community.”

“I invite everyone to take the opportunity to meet your neighbours, your local business providers, and community organizations at this carnival-like event,” said Councillor Paul Sharman. “Most of all, take the opportunity to meet and thank the organizers. Their dedication is a true example of community spirit.”
