June 25, 2026 — BurlingtonGreen
BurlingtonGreen is inviting the community to take part in its city-wide 200,000 Eco-Actions by 2030 campaign, an inclusive initiative designed to mobilize collective environmental action and grow a positive movement for the environment across Burlington.
Reflecting on the escalating urgency for greater environmental action, the campaign encourages everyone who lives, works, or studies in Burlington to contribute to a shared goal of 200,000 environment-benefiting actions by the year 2030. The initiative is rooted in BurlingtonGreen’s longstanding belief that together, we make a difference.
“Environmental issues can feel overwhelming, but meaningful change happens when everyday actions are taken collectively,” says Amy Schnurr, executive director of BurlingtonGreen. This campaign recognizes and celebrates what people in our community are doing to help Mother Earth, while inspiring further local action to improve the health of the environment.
Since launching the campaign in 2024, BurlingtonGreen has been tracking, reporting, and celebrating everyday eco-actions taken by the community. These actions include choices such as walking or biking instead of driving, reducing household waste and energy use, planting trees or pollinator gardens, and purchasing second-hand items. As of June 2026, Burlington residents have already shared over 66,000 eco-actions, demonstrating strong community momentum.
Community members can participate by sharing their eco-actions through a quick and easy online form on BurlingtonGreen’s website, by attending a BG event and adding dots to the interactive panel, or by borrowing the panel to feature at your school, workplace, or community group event.
Actions are organized across five topic areas: Transportation; Homes & Energy; Waste; Nature & Biodiversity; and Lifestyle & Leadership. Participants are encouraged to return and submit additional actions whenever they adopt new environmentally friendly practices.
BurlingtonGreen gratefully acknowledges the support of Burlington Hydro and the City of Burlington as supporters of the 200,000 Eco-Actions by 2030 campaign.
