Burlington is a spot where sports and athletics thrive, with numerous teams and athletes proudly representing the city. Among these, ringette stands out as an exciting and competitive team sport, often dubbed the fastest game on ice. The Ringette Association of Burlington has made a significant mark, consistently bringing home medals across various age groups and skill levels, hosting tournaments and events, and developing players, paving the way for their future successes in the world of ringette.
So, what is ringette? The objective of this on-ice sport is to use a straight stick to send a rubber ring into the other team’s goal. The team that ends up with the highest score wins the game. Ringette is a great option for a safe, competitive, and rewarding sport for anyone ages 4 and over. Ringette Association of Burlington (RAB) is represented by 14 teams ranging from U8 to U18+, each contributing to the success of the city in the past years including a silver medal from the U19B team this fall in the Nepean Tournament!
Other achievements from Burlington include the currently undefeated U14B team, Burlington players achieving spots on national ringette teams, and the U16AA Nationals qualification of 2023 — the first time a Burlington team has achieved this. We hope to see nothing but more success as these local teams continue on this season. There is still much to look forward to including the annual Burlington Blast Tournament hosted at the Appleby Ice Centre. Ringette teams from across the province will take part in the 2025 Burlington Blast Tournament on the weekend of Jan. 10; participants and audience members will enjoy not just high-energy games, but a silent auction, vendor room, and the chance to participate in a 50/50 draw.
The Ringette Association of Burlington showcases teamwork and community pride. With a solid foundation and dedication to excellence, Burlington’s ringette teams are set for even more success in 2025 and beyond. We’re excited to cheer them on as they continue their journey!
