BurlingtonGreen Environmental Association is excited to announce a series of engaging and educational events in honor of National Forest Week. From September 21 to September 27, the community is invited to join in celebrating the beauty and importance of trees with a variety of activities. 

Event Lineup:

  • Green Up Community Tree Planting at Millcroft Park
    Saturday, September 21 – 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    Partnering with the City of Burlington Forestry Department, this popular event invites residents, students, groups, and business employees to help plant 250 native trees at Millcroft Park. This hands-on activity is both rewarding and educational. Advance registration at www.burlingtongreen.org is required as space is limited. The event will proceed rain or shine. Special thanks to Tree Canada and the LCBO for their support in making this event possible.
  • Ask an Arborist Webinar
    Wednesday, September 25 – 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    In this informative webinar,Kyle McLoughlin, Master Arborist and Supervisor of Forest Planning and Health at the City of Burlington, will share his expertise on tree and urban forest care, and there will be a Q&A session where you can ask your tree-related questions. Please send your questions in advance when you register or email them to BurlingtonGreen before the event. 
  • Annual Tree Photo Contest
    Submissions open September 27
    Showcase your favorite Burlington tree by participating in this annual photo contest! Submit a photo of a tree located in Burlington along with a short description and the location. The winner, selected by community voting, will receive a $50 gift card to Connon Nurseries. Entries must be submitted by midnight on October 10.
