Burlington Sports Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations in the following categories: Athlete, Builder and Award of Distinction. To nominate someone for consideration by the Burlington Sports Hall of Fame, email their name and sport, along with your contact information, to burlingtonsportshof@gmail.com. The eligibility requirements for each category are outlined below.
Athlete
Candidate shall have demonstrated outstanding achievement as an athlete in their specific field or displayed above average proficiency in a variety of sports.
- Candidate shall have brought honour and fostered pride in the City through their exceptional athletic achievements.
- An athlete can be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame three (3) years after retirement from competition. “Masters Competition” is not a limiting factor.
Builder
- Candidate will have demonstrated consistently outstanding commitment and leadership to athletics or sports as officials, executives, trainers, coaches, administrators and media over an extended period of time.
- Candidate shall have brought honour and demonstrated pride in the City through his/her exceptional leadership, commitment or achievements.
Award of Distinction
- From time to time, an athlete, team, or organization achieves a level of distinction worthy of recognition but does not meet the induction criteria. In such cases, we believe it is important to formally acknowledge and honour these exceptional accomplishments.
