Contributions help the Library grow its children’s book and tech collections, fund free programs that ignite a passion for reading, science, and art, and create welcoming spaces with engaging toys, furnishings, and technology.

Shopping for someone who has everything? Honour their love of books and learning with a truly meaningful gift. A donation to BPL’s Kids Learning Fund in their name is a gift that keeps giving.
“If you have someone on your list who loves reading, a gift in their name to the Kids Learning Fund is a gift to the entire community,” says Lita Barrie, Burlington Public Library CEO.
Every dollar donated to the Kids Learning Fund benefits tens of thousands of children every year. In the past year, the Library had over 3.3 million visits to seven locations and online services, many from families and kids.
“Each of those visits is an opportunity for your gift to change a child’s life by inspiring their love of reading, connecting them with others, and giving them a safe space to play and learn,” says Barrie.
A $30 donation can purchase up to four books for the children’s collection. A $100 donation can buy supplies for a STEAM or literacy programming session. And a $200 donation can help replace aging play equipment.
How to donate to the Kids Learning Fund
You can donate directly to the Kids Learning Fund on the Library’s website. You can also visit your nearest BPL branch to make a cash or card donation in person with a staff member. Tax receipts are issued for all donations over $20. Donors can pick up a thank you postcard at any branch to include in a holiday card for someone they’ve donated in honour of.
