Local folks who enjoyed Aldershot artisans and vendors markets in pre-pandemic years will be pleased to know a weekly farmers market is coming to Aldershot this summer.
Street Eats Market, in conjunction with Aldershot Business Improvement Area (ABIA) and Partnering Aldershot, has secured a central site and parking to hold a weekly farmers market, every Saturday from May 25 to October 26, 2024.
The market will be held at 1016 Waterdown Rd., one building north of the Plains Rd. intersection. Parking has been arranged at The Fitness Firm health club at 15 Plains Rd. West, with an access pathway through to the market site.
The market hopes to feature local fresh produce, crafts, local vendors of fresh and prepared foods, along with a rotating line-up of food truck choices for Aldershot residents and visitors to enjoy on summer Saturday mornings.
With some 25 vendor spaces available, the opportunity for local groups to hold craft and hobby workshops is also on the cards.
Appreciative of the need to “give back,” plans are underway to provide help for seniors and low-income families using vouchers that can be traded at any Aldershot Farmers Market booth.
Andrea Dodd of ABIA commented: “The Aldershot BIA is thrilled to see a true farmers market come to the area. We are looking forward to our business community and our residents enjoying all the good things that a summer farmers market brings.”
