LaSalle Marina is a great place to see ducks during the winter months, including many species such as the Common Goldeneye, which have migrated south for the winter. Late in the winter, it can be very entertaining to watch the antics of the males, as they perform for the females by throwing their heads back — they end up creating an illusion of a “water rabbit!”
In this photo, do you see a duck, a rabbit, or both?
