White-throated Sparrows breed across central Canada, and pass through here during migration to and from their southern U.S.A. wintering grounds. Some will spend the winter with us.
They are best known for their song, which sounds like “Oh Canada, Canada, Canada.” This photo was taken in my backyard in Ancaster.
