The Sahaja Yoga Meditation Networks is offering three free meditation workshops in Burlington and Oakville to honour Remembrance Day this week, and a special Diwali workshop this coming Saturday.

The first will take place at 7 p.m. this evening, Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at Oakville’s Glen Abbey Community Centre.

The next two will be in Burlington, at the Orchard Community Hub; the first is at 10 a.m. on Tues., Nov. 14, and is aimed at seniors. The second will be on Wed., Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

These Remembrance Day-themed in-person meditation sessions will be dedicated to the “right-heart chakra,” and “transmit[ting] loving attention across Canada and the world.” While no prior meditation experience is necessary, Sahaja Yoga Network does ask you be open and ready to try something new: they are always ready to welcome new faces to their in-person and online offerings.

On Sat., Nov. 18, Sahaja Yoga Network is hosting a diya-decorating workshop and in-person meditation event to celebrate Diwali. This will run from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Orchard Community Hub (in St. Christopher’s Catholic Elementary School). Participants will decorate diyas, or earthenware lamps, and learn more about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.
