Across Burlington last week, Small Business Week was celebrated, which is an annual event celebrating the backbone of our local economy — small businesses and entrepreneurs. During this week-long celebration, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, together with local partners, hosts a variety of events and initiatives to honour and support business owners and entrepreneurs who contribute to our city.

One such event was the MEGA Business After 5 and Tradeshow, which was hosted on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the newly-renovated Holiday Inn atrium. This event offered an opportunity for celebration, learning, and networking. It showcased over 30 exhibitor tables, a performance from the Canadian Dance Company Burlington, and an opportunity to refresh your professional headshot with Brand Savage Photography.

Being the largest Business After 5 event of the year, it offered a platform for like-minded individuals to share their passion for entrepreneurship, while aiming to strengthen the small business community in the city. Through mingling, exchanging business experiences, and sharing innovative ideas, MEGA Business After 5 served as a reminder of the vital role these enterprises play in our local communities, and the importance of supporting and promoting their growth and success.

Exhibitors included Joe Apps Technology Support, Monfriese Rum Cakes, Lawrie Insurance Group, Ashwood Glen School, Halton Region Small Business Centre, among many others.

The next Business After 5 event is scheduled November 15, 2023. More information can be found at www.burlingtonchamber.com.
