This coming weekend, the Elizabeth Gardens Creative Collective (EGCC) is presenting a Spring Artisan Market at St. Elizabeth’s Anglican Church in Burlington. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.

This Spring Artisan Market will be the perfect place to pick up a Mother’s Day gift for the special women in your life. The work of sixteen local artisans will be featured at the market, from painters and photographers to a crafter of beeswax lip balms.

When you have browsed all the beautiful pieces of artwork, you can drop by the Artisan Cafe and enjoy a much-needed refreshment.

There are special free activities for kids as well, and a chance to win great prizes, so bring your kids along too. Entry to the market is free.

Some artists that will be participating in the Spring Artisan Market are Michelle Nettleton of Michelle Nettleton Fine Art; David Lawrence a.k.a. Dave the Bee Guy; Adrianna Wimmers of Adrianna Paints; and Chris Boucher of Gib and His Adventures.

These artists highlight the variety of art and wares that will be available at the market. Nettleton is an accomplished watercolourist of the natural world, animal portraits, and still life, and Wimmers, another watercolourist, specializes in floral images. Dave the Bee Guy, as the name suggests, is a hobbyist beekeeper who tends to hives at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. He offers raw unpasteurized local honey, as well as his homemade beeswax lip balms. Then there’s Boucher, writer and illustrator of Gib and His Adventures. Though he has been drawing for 35 years, it is only in the last three years that he has focused on creating picture books featuring main character Gib.
