Hey, Ferris here; let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m about five and a half, I’ve had the big ole “snip, snip” (no more tomcatting for me!), I’m up to date on all my vaccines and I’m really trying to come out of my shell but, sheesh, you guys seem to expect a lot! I’ve come out of my shell about as far as I’m prepared to come!
At first, I was pretty scared (I had a very long car ride to get to Burlington Humane and you know how much us cats like carriers and car rides…NOT!) but I’ve had time (LOTS of time!) to decompress. In fact, I’ve been with BHS for almost two years…wait, let me repeat that…TWO YEARS…again…TWO YEARS!!
I’ve been in foster care for almost one of those years and I love my foster dad, I really do, but man, I need to get into my OWN home! My foster dad has done a lot of work with me (he’s pretty amazing) but he’s gone about as far as he can go (that shell thing again!).
I’m the kind of guy who is looking for a someone to live with, someone who’ll feed me, someone who’ll share space with me. I’m an extremely low-maintenance type of guy (except for the times when I want to chase a laser pointer, followed up by a soft toy I can catch — darn those lasers, very frustrating!). The best part of lasers and wand toys is that I can play at a distance.
I don’t need pets and baby-voices…in fact, I don’t WANT those. I just want a roommate. In time, I might decide I want to be more than friends but the jury’s out on that for now. I’m at the shelter for the next few days if you want to put your application in to meet me in person. Or not…whatever…see ya later…maybe…
Ferris is available for adoption through the Burlington Humane Society. If you fall in love and want to adopt one of the pets featured in “Adoptable Pet of the Week,” go to the Adopt a Cat or Kitten or the Adopt a Dog or Puppy page on their website for more information on how to proceed.
