The inaugural meeting of the 2022–2026 city council is open to Burlington residents who wish to attend. It takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC).
The newly-elected council and mayor will be sworn in at this meeting. Music and refreshments will be available before the meeting starts, and a reception will follow. Tickets are free and available from Nov. 4 from BPAC’s box office (Tues. to Sat., 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.), over the phone (905-681-6000), or online at burlingtonpac.ca. You can also get tickets at the door on the day of the event.
All of the councillors being sworn in have experienced at least one inaugurual meeting, as all are returning from the previous term’s council, as is Mayor Marianne Meed Ward. Your Ward 1 city and regional councillor is Kelvin Galbraith; Ward 2 is Lisa Kearns; Ward 3 is Rory Nisan; Ward 4 is Shawna Stolte; Ward 5 is Paul Sharman; and Ward 6 is Angelo Bentivegna.
