Canada’s Royal Botanical Gardens will host a public meeting to display and discuss its 25-year Master Plan. The date is Thursday, November 3 starting at 6 p.m. at the Rock Garden.
Chief Executive Officer Nancy Rowland and others will provide an update on the recently-approved plan and outline the projects that have been selected for priority implementation.
Seating is limited for the event. Those interested in attending should call Carrie Haans at 905-527-1158 ext. 515.
During an interview last year, Rowland said that the Laking Garden is near the top of the list. It needs to be rejuvenated.
“We have Laking Garden on our agenda for sure. In the Master Plan, it does factor quite prominently. It is really an under-utilized space…and requires more programming.”
Consultants who worked on the preparation of the Master Plan suggested big things for Laking.
“The Laking Garden would be restored to a premier garden destination. It would include a contemporary wedding venue with capacity of holding multiple weddings at once, as well as include a boutique hotel for locals and visitors alike.”
