Our pet of the week will be Bonsai!
Bonsai is a 2 year old Boxer Mix. He was brought to us through a heroic team effort between ourselves, Freedem Dogs, and Bark at the Moon, from being tied up under a porch and nearly abandoned to being in our shelter.
He can be a bit nervous meeting new people but warms up quickly and is a huge suck within minutes! He LOVES to play fetch. There was a child in his original home so we think he’d be fine with them, but we haven’t tested it ourselves. We were originally told that he can be dog-reactive, which he can sometimes, but we’ve also seen him socialize and play beautifully with other dogs, so he is more like “dog-selective” than “dog-reactive.” He is untested with cats.
He has recently been neutered while in our care, has gotten his vaccines, and is now ready for a furever home where he can continue to learn to trust and get all the love he deserves.
Bonsai is available for adoption through the Burlington Humane Society. Local-news.ca has partnered with the Burlington Humane Society to give you stories of some of the pets they have available for adoption. If you fall in love and want to adopt one of the pets featured, go to the Adopt a Cat or Kitten or the Adopt a Dog or Puppy page on their website for more information on how to proceed.
