From Port Nelson United Church

BURLINGTON – A Peace Garden has returned to the grounds of Port Nelson United Church. After hosting a Peace Garden for many years, the church’s recent renovations meant giving it up in the name of a more modern, spacious and accessible building.

This spring, a small group from Port Nelson and the Roseland Community Organization assembled a plan to bring the Peace Garden back to the Roseland community, receiving funding from the City of Burlington’s Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund Program to bring that plan to fruition.

Media and photographers are welcome to attend the public unveiling of the Roseland Peace Garden, with special guests Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, Burlington City Councillor Shawna Stolte, Rev. Dr. Michael Brooks from Port Nelson United Church and Dr. Bill Love from the Roseland Community Organization.
