The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) is offering more than two dozen post-secondary scholarships to graduating students of the Halton District School Board (HDSB).

Thanks to generous donations from the Halton community, eligible HDSB students can apply online for these awards, which range in value from $500 to $20,000. For most scholarships, the application deadline is April 30; some have deadlines of May 17.

HLF scholarships recognize a wide variety of skills and attributes, such as academics, leadership, community involvement, and resilience.

HLF’s communications manager, Sherri Armstrong, strongly encourages students who meet an award’s basic criteria to apply.

“Too often, kids don’t take the time to apply for scholarships because they think they don’t have a chance of success, but that can be misguided. Our donors are not always looking for the students at the top of the class; they’re looking for those kids who work hard, who have a passion for learning, and who need some help to continue their educational journey.”
