The Trumpeter Swan is Burlington’s official city bird, which is a great choice as LaSalle Marina boasts a very large number that spend the winter there. It is well worth a visit to see them and learn about them by reading a billboard that has been placed following their selection as city bird. Just don’t feed them bread, as it can be quite harmful to them (and all waterfowl).

This one looks like it took a chomp out of another bird! Note that the Trumpeter Swan has a black bill, whereas the Mute Swan, which you might see at LaSalle as well, has an orange bill.
