Underlings — I’m Bagheera and I’m currently accepting applications for those I might consider living with. I have very specific criteria.
You MUST have the ability to refrain from unwanted attention…I will let you know when I’m in need of attention. I might even decide to chew on you a bit…you’ll get used to it (yeah, I’m a bit of a jerk!).
You must play with me. I will determine how long playtime will last.
You MUST feed me when I want food…this is non-negotiable (don’t listen to the humans, they’ll try to tell you otherwise!)
I don’t take kindly to the attention of tiny humans…you must remove them from the home to make room for me! (Or, ideally, not have any, or permit any to enter the domicile!)
I don’t think I like other cats yet — I haven’t met many worthy of my attention but make sure you don’t just throw us together — this will not end well.
So, lowly human, if you wish to be my tenant, please let my staff know — I’ll let them know if I’m willing to meet with you…I’m very busy, but I might be able to make time.
Hi, this is the lowly human speaking…if Mr. Sassy-pants sounds like he could be just what you’re looking for, please fill out the application on the BHS website…he’s quite a guy! Oh, and Mr. “I’m-all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips” forgot to tell you he’s FIV+, probably because it’s really a nothing-burger. Just keep him healthy with regular vet visits and he’ll live for years to boss you around!
Bagheera is available for adoption through the Burlington Humane Society. If you fall in love and want to adopt one of the pets featured in “Adoptable Pet of the Week,” go to the Adopt a Cat or Kitten or the Adopt a Dog or Puppy page on their website for more information on how to proceed.
