March 23, 2026 — Halton District School Board

The Halton District School Board, in partnership with Special Olympics Ontario (SOO), will host a Sports Festival on March 25 and 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Milton Velodrome (2015 Pan Am Blvd, Milton) for hundreds of HDSB elementary students with special education needs.

Organized by SOO, this event is intended to introduce students and their families to the Special Olympics. It is designed as a fun, non-competitive event designed to provide young athletes with an intellectual/physical disability an entry point to sport and physical activity. It enables communities to support physical literacy development as well as community program development.

The Halton District School Board is excited to once again host the Sports Festival for elementary students with special education needs. This event celebrates student achievement with participants building confidence, connecting with peers, and demonstrating their skills, strengths, and abilities. These opportunities play an important role in fulfilling our commitments through the 2024–2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan. We look forward to seeing students take part, enjoy the experience, and be celebrated for all they accomplish at the SOO Sports Festival.
