This week’s adoptable pet of the week is Spirit!
Spirit is a one-year-old pup with lots of playful energy who loves to run, play, and explore. She gets along well with other dogs, though she can become a little nervous if she feels cornered by a dog she doesn’t know yet. With gentle introductions and space, she does just fine.
When meeting new people, Spirit may be a bit shy at first, but she warms up quickly and shows her affectionate, loving nature. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys being close and soaking up attention.
Spirit has good house manners. She is good about asking to go outside for bathroom breaks and is tolerating crate time nicely for 3–4 hours. Like many young dogs, she’s still learning what’s appropriate to chew and may occasionally nibble on the coffee table when she thinks no one is watching — but she redirects easily and is eager to learn.
Spirit would thrive in a patient, loving home that can continue to guide her as she grows into a confident, well-rounded companion. Could that be you?
Spirit is available for adoption through the Burlington Humane Society. Local-news.ca has partnered with the Burlington Humane Society to bring you stories of some of the pets they have available for adoption. If you fall in love and want to adopt one of the pets featured, go to the Adopt a Cat or Kitten or the Adopt a Dog or Puppy page on their website for more information on how to proceed.
