New appointment will increase food access and coordination, strengthening the local food bank network

Sept. 3, 2025 — FeedHalton

FeedHalton is proud to announce that it has been appointed by Feed Ontario as the new food bank distribution centre for Halton Region, helping to ensure that more food reaches more people in need through a strengthened and coordinated regional network.

As a centralized distribution hub, FeedHalton will play a key role in the provincial food bank network by improving access to large-scale food deliveries from Feed Ontario to local hunger-relief agencies. This partnership will increase efficiency, enable stronger coordination across the region, and create new opportunities for local food banks to share and receive resources.

FeedHalton was endorsed by five longstanding Feed Ontario member organizations in the region: Burlington Food Bank, Kerr Street Mission, Georgetown Bread Basket, Acton Food Share, and The Salvation Army Khi in Milton. With their support, FeedHalton successfully met Feed Ontario’s requirements to take on this regional role. This collaboration also highlights the deep commitment of food banks and hunger-relief agencies across Halton to work together on providing the best service possible to people and families in need.

“Achieving Feed Ontario regional membership is game-changing for Halton,” says Robin Bailey, executive director of FeedHalton. “This partnership will amplify our impact, strengthen our services, and help us to meet the growing demands in the region. Together, we are building more capacity and resiliency in the food system.”

“Feed Ontario is proud to welcome FeedHalton to the provincial food bank network,” says Carolyn Stewart, CEO of Feed Ontario. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to increasing food access and working collaboratively to ensure food banks have the resources they need to meet rising demand and provide essential support to families facing hunger.”
