Meet Sunshine, the cat who wears his heart on his nose (literally)!
Can you open your heart to Sunshine?
Sunshine is a 7-year-old neutered male tabby-and-white cat who wears his heart right on his nose — a perfect little heart-shaped marking that says it all. An unfortunate chain of circumstances has left Sunshine with only three legs after his front left paw was injured beyond repair.
After surviving life as a stray and losing his front left leg to injury, Sunshine now lives in the glass-walled “aquarium” behind the front desk at Burlington Humane. From his post, he keeps tabs on everything — and everyone — reaching his one front paw under the door looking for someone to play with (or maybe just to say hi!). He’s bursting with personality: curious, clever, and has just the right amount of mischief. Sunshine keeps us all on our toes.
He’s looking for a home that matches his vibe — calm and animal-free (especially no dogs), but ready to appreciate a cat who likes things his way. He enjoys the occasional head scratch, but he’ll let you know when enough is enough. Once he trusts you, he’ll be a loyal (and slightly cheeky) companion who brings plenty of energy and entertainment to your life.
Because he has only one front leg, he’ll need a little help keeping that adorable heart-shaped nose clean — but he won’t mind the extra attention, as long as it’s on his terms.
If you’re looking for a cat with spark, spunk, and serious charm, Sunshine is your guy.
Come meet him at Burlington Humane Society — he’s impossible to ignore and unforgettable once you meet him.
Sunshine is available for adoption through the Burlington Humane Society.
