Who says you don’t want a lump of Coal under the tree at Christmas? Clearly, they haven’t met OUR Coal!
Coal is a stunning lab mix, approximately 1–2 years old, with a huge heart. Though his journey hasn’t been the smoothest, he’s ready to find his forever home with someone who can show him the love and patience he deserves.
The scoop on Coal
Foodie extraordinaire: Coal is highly food-motivated, making training and bonding a breeze! Treats help him learn that new things — like unfamiliar people or dogs — aren’t so scary after all.
Curious and cautious: While Coal can be wary of new experiences (like people in big hoods — what’s up with that?!), he redirects beautifully with some tasty encouragement.
Playful pup energy: Coal loves to play with other dogs but can come on a bit strong, so slow and supervised introductions are best to ensure everyone feels comfortable.
Cat-curious: In his foster home, Coal has shown curiosity toward cats. He’s eager but listens well to a confident kitty who knows how to set boundaries. If he’s to have feline friends, they’ll need to be patient and assertive.

Home life and hobbies
Coal is fully crate-trained and happy to relax while you’re at work.
He’s medium-energy: ready for walks (preferably when it’s not raining or freezing!) but equally content snuggling on the couch, chewing on a bone, or working on a Kong — his absolute favourite! (He’s a pro with frozen Kongs, so stock up on those “tough chewer” ones!)
Continued positive reinforcement training will help build his confidence, deepen your bond, and keep his smart mind busy.
Coal is a sweet, goofy, and loyal companion who’s ready to bring joy to the right family. With love, patience, and a few treats, this “lump of Coal” could become the shining star of your life.
