Canadian Food Truck Festivals (CFTF) is coming back to serve a wide variety of snacks, meals, and sweets at the Burlington Food Truck Festival from July 19 through to July 21.

This is the first year that CFTF will be holding their food fest at Burloak Waterfront Park after some seven years at Spencer Smith Park, following objections from downtown businesses asking for the festival to take place elsewhere.

The festival will have 30 food trucks serving up a plethora of foods from all different cultures, coming together in one spot, celebrating the multiculturalism of Canada — and making for some difficult choices about what to eat.

Some of the trucks participating in the festival include Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream and Cheesecake by Heirloom; savoury treats include feasTo Dumplings and Kathi Roll Express. Once visitors finish picking out the foods they want to try (from options that will include vegetarian, halal, vegan, and gluten-free items, depending on the vendor), they can have a picnic in the park and appreciate the beautiful scenery of Burloak Waterfront Park.

There is more for eventgoers to enjoy alongside the food, with numerous activities that will also take place, including free children’s games, great live performances from local artists, and eating challenges. Kendra Gabrielle, Crooked Zebras, and Monkey Wrench are amongst the musicians performing at the festival.

The Ford EV Road Trip of a Lifetime tour will also stop by during the event. It is a contest run by Ford that gives guests a chance to learn about the benefits associated with electric vehicles (EV) and how these cars can fit into their lifestyles.

Ford states: “Participants will also have a chance to win the grand prize of an ultimate EV road trip, overnight stay, and exclusive experience valued at approximately $3,000.”  To enter, attendees can either sign up online at https://fordevroadtrip.com/ or visit their pop-up site on the festival grounds on July 19 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., or July 20 and 21 from noon to 8 p.m.

Admission is free to the Burlington Food Truck Festival; at last year’s festival, donations were collected for the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, with a suggested donation of $5. Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation is again listed on the CFTF’s Burlington webpage under the title, “In support of.”  For more information, including the performance schedule, click here to go to the Canadian Food Truck Festivals website.
