One of Peter Thoem’s June birds of the day (from his website, My Bird of the Day) was a hungry Blue-Headed Vireo, which Thoem managed to photograph the second the bird had caught its prey.

Thoem noted that this insect would give the bird the fuel to keep flying along its migratory path north, where it would find a mate to begin the next generation of Blue-Headed Vireos, which would in turn be fueled by another crop of various insects. A circle-of-life moment captured on camera.
