BurlingtonGreen invites the community to bring broken and unwanted electronics and other items to be recycled at their May 25th Zero Waste Drop-Off!

On Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., BurlingtonGreen is teaming up with the Burlington Centre and Tech Genius to host this convenient and popular event to help the community eliminate clutter from homes, offices, schools, and other community locations so that together we can help the planet locally.

Located at the Burlington Centre parking lot (777 Guelph Line at Fairview St.), crew members from the Tech Genius will be on-site to accept a wide range of electronic items for recycling, and a series of Terracycle Zero Waste bins will be stationed at the event to accept more unique waste items not currently accepted in Halton Region’s recycling program.

Donations are also accepted for Compassion Society!
There will be bins available to contribute non-perishable food, as well as supplies like diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for the Compassion Society of Halton.

Accepted electronics for recycling include consumer electronics, gaming consoles, computers, phones, tablets, phone systems, server racks, disc arrays, printers/fax machines, keyboards, mice, CD/DVDs, software, switches, routers, cables, TVs (not heavyweight), microwaves, coffeemakers, personal appliances (toothbrushes, razors) and other small home appliances.

Other accepted items: ink cartridges, small alkaline batteries, plastic cards (wallet-sized gift cards, library, membership cards), small size filters (Brita-type and small air filters), disposable PPE masks, and candy and snack wrappers (Individual candy wrappers, cookie wrappers, snack bags, multi-pack snack bags, and family-size snack bags),

BurlingtonGreen holds these zero waste drop-off events each Spring and Fall, providing an eco-action opportunity for everyone in Burlington to help the planet locally while decluttering their homes and offices.

Burlington Repair Cafe will also be onsite making repairs for those who pre-registered. To schedule a repair at a future event, community members are invited to email information about their item to burlingtonrepaircafe@cogeco.ca or see https://www.facebook.com/Burlington.Canada.Repair.Cafe.

BurlingtonGreen is grateful to the following community partners for their support of this impactful event: Tech Genius, the City of Burlington, Burlington Centre, and Burlington Repair Cafe.

Celebrating 17 years of helping the planet locally, BurlingtonGreen welcomes all sectors of the community to join their efforts through awareness, advocacy, and action, to empower the Burlington community to protect and care for the environment, now and for the future.
