Macy has been featured on Local-news.ca before, but she is still looking for her forever family. If you’re ready to welcome a new furry family member into your life, consider Macy — though we’re always happy to see her adorable photos, we’d rather not have to run her story again.

Meet Miss Macy Moo!

Macy is truly the epitome of a lovebug. She possesses an innate sweetness, relishing every moment she can spend cuddled up with her cherished family; if she could, she’d readily become a lap dog. She is an affectionate medium-sized dog whose photos may deceive you! Despite her apparent size in pictures, Macy’s in-person charm is accentuated by her surprisingly small stature, making her even more endearing. She is ready to prove that good things come in smaller packages!

Fetch is a favourite game (on her terms), with enthusiasm that lasts but a brief moment. Her penchant for plush toys is evident as she affectionately transports them from her bed to her crate and various nooks around the house, sometimes engaging in playful bouts with them.

Macy’s intelligence shines through in her repertoire of commands: sit, lay down, paw, and off, while her ongoing journey to master “stay” speaks to her determination to learn. Her attentiveness is remarkable, particularly when you consider how well she responds to “come,” though she occasionally becomes captivated by the allure of the great outdoors. This is when she’ll adorably stand on her hind legs to gain a better vantage point, whether it’s to observe the intriguing antics of squirrels, chipmunks, birds, or even the occasional bug.

Despite her charming nature, Macy harbours a bit of an aversion to cats, yet she thrives in the company of older children. Small children can be unpredictable and noisy for Macy. For this reason, no cats or small children should be in Macy’s new home.

When it comes to her daily walks, her exuberance occasionally results in pulling, a testament to her strength and spirited demeanour. Macy’s keen nose is her trusted companion, leading her on exploratory sniffing missions that hint at a possible hound lineage.

Macy’s sociable spirit shines brightly as she eagerly greets newcomers and basks in the affection of belly rubs. Her car rides are smooth and pleasant, reflecting her adaptability and good behaviour on the road. At home, she indulges in a quirky habit of “collecting” household items like slippers and leashes, though she’s not inclined to chew them.

One peculiar quirk to note: Macy’s penchant for drinking from the toilet, a preference easily managed by ensuring the seat remains down. During mealtimes, she demonstrates her obedience by waiting patiently until given the green light to savour her breakfast or dinner. Ensuring her dry food is meticulously coated and mixed with wet food is a necessity, and ingeniously administering her allergy medication with a touch of peanut butter is the secret to success.

In summary, Macy is nothing short of an extraordinary dog, her endearing qualities encompassing her lovable nature and keen intellect.

Macy is currently in a foster home. She needs a home where she is the only dog due to dog reactivity. She also needs a home without cats. Macy’s preferred home would have older children. Macy is also on daily allergy medication that would need to be continued.
