We’re going back a few weeks to the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, with this remarkable photo by David Wei Tan. For most, viewing this eclipse was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and so seeing it through the eyes (well, lens) of different people is quite fascinating. As well as capturing the plane flying near the eclipse (being on the plane must have been quite the experience!), David caught the “diamond ring” effect, which appears just before and just after totality.
Many thanks to Lydia Law of HMC Connections, where David is a language student, who alerted us to David’s talent and sent us this photo with his permission — and special thanks to David for sharing his work!
