For their final “Cool Kids and Parents” event of 2023, the Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network is hosting one of their signature meditation and crafting workshops on Sat., Dec. 30 at the Orchard Community Hub.
This free event, running from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., offers a festive craft — decorating pinecones — and a meditation session for kids aged 7 and older. All craft materials will be provided, and adults are encouraged to join in. Music will help set the scene and welcome in the new year.
Not only is this event the final in the Cool Kids and Parents series, it is also capping off the entire 100 Seeds of Joy 2023 initiative. This project was all about celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of the Sahaja Yoga movement, and the 150+ birthday of Burlington by spreading joy and calm through meditation. The Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network invited individuals and groups to become “cultivators of joy to make a difference to mental health” by choosing a format (online or in-person), and booking a meditation event; Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network volunteers did the rest.
100 Seeds of Joy initially aimed to host 150 events, but has far surpassed that goal through their online weekday lunchtime meditations, in-person outdoor meditations, music and craft workshops, and more. Network There are already some events on the 2024 calendar; find out more at 100seedsofjoy.com
