The Remembrance Day Service on Nov. 11 will be held at Veteran Square (426 Brant St.), beginning at 11 a.m. The service is in-person and will also be broadcast online. Everyone is welcome to attend the events.
Burl-Oak Naval Veterans Remembrance Day Service, 9 a.m.

The City of Burlington has a strong and deep connection with our local veterans. I encourage all of our residents to join, if they are able, the Burl-Oak Naval Veterans’ Sunrise Service and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 Burlington Service on Nov. 11. We remember, honour and commemorate all those who volunteered, served, sacrificed and died for our freedom and the privileges we are fortunate enough to have today. It’s an unpayable debt we owe our veterans. Gathering together as a community is but one way we can show them we will never forget.

Remembrance Day Procession, 10:30 a.m.
The procession will be led by armored personnel carriers and will begin at Central School on Baldwin Street, travelling down Brant Street to Elgin Street, Locust Street, Ontario Street and ending at the Cenotaph in Veteran Square, 426 Brant St.
The streets noted will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60, Remembrance Day Service, 11 a.m.
This 45- to 60-minute ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph in Veteran Square, on the north side of City Hall and will be live-streamed for those who cannot physically attend.
The ceremony will include a colour guard, two minutes of silence, music performed by some members of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, reading of In Flanders Fields along with the laying of the wreaths.

I welcome everyone to participate in the service, either in person or online. By remembering, we pay tribute to members of the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP who served to defend our values and freedoms. We also honour those who continue to serve our country today.

Road closures and traffic restrictions for Remembrance Day ceremonies
The Remembrance Day Procession and Service is on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Road closures will be in effect. Vehicles parked illegally in the road closure area will be tagged or towed.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Brant Street between Baldwin Street and Pine Street. Detour on Victoria Avenue.
- Ontario Street between Locust Street and Brant Street.
- Locust Street between Elgin Street and Ontario Street.
- Baldwin Street between Hurd Avenue and Brant Street.
- Elgin Street between Locust Street and Brant Street.
Resident Access
Residents and businesses along the route can exit using John Street, Locust Street or Blathwayte Lane. Emergency services access will be maintained at all times along the route.
Parking information
Parking will not be available on Brant Street between Baldwin Street and Pine Street between 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please do not park in restricted areas.
Waterfront Parking Garage (414 Locust St.) will remain open with 339 parking spots available.
Supervision
Road closures will be managed by the Halton Region Police Service. Event notices were delivered to all residences, religious centres and businesses affected by the event.
