St. Matthews Church in Aldershot is calling out for Burlington residents to dig deep this Thanksgiving to help others in our community via their drive-through food and grocery gift card collection this Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The church runs their drive-through food drive every Wednesday, making it even easier for people to help others. The food drives are in support of the Burlington Food Bank and the Compassion Society. Church volunteers are on hand at 126 Plains Rd. E. to collect weekly drive-through donations and then make the big deliveries to those organizations for distribution to those in need.
In the run-up to Thanksgiving, though, St. Matthews is asking for us to think of our neighbours who may be struggling to put a turkey with all the trimmings on the table. Even if you can’t donate regularly, consider whether your budget can manage a grocery gift card donation in time for turkey day, and drop one off in the drive-through at St. Matthews Church front driveway on Wed., Sept. 27. Of course, non-perishable food and school snacks are always much-appreciated donations and can be left on the wooden pallets at the front of the church, and direct donations can also be made to the Burlington Food Bank or the Compassion Society.
