Local-news.ca is pleased to have our first “Burlington’s Got Talent” feature! This column is for the talented people of Burlington to show us what they’ve got, with no limit on age (either upper or lower). Do you or a loved one have a talent that should be shared with the city? Send us photos or video to articles@local-news.ca. We know Burlington has talent, and can’t wait to show it off!
Talented Burlington resident Saivi Mani is just 8 years old, but is already writing short stories for toddlers and young children; each story has a message. Here are two of her short stories for your reading pleasure, Superhero Sleeptime and I Know My Manners.
Superhero Sleeptime
Have you ever wondered if superheroes are real?!
Well, they are!
You may think that they do not sleep, but they do!
They sleep because they get energy!
“If I sleep, I will get energy.”
If you sleep and wake up on time…
You will become a superhero!!!
And you will save the day!
The end!
I Know My Manners
Do you know your manners?
My manner is to eat with my mouth closed!
My manner is to not talk when I have food in my mouth!
If you have one manner, do it everyday!
Make sure in class you do not interrupt people when they are talking.
Make sure you try at least five bites of new food.
Also make sure that you finish your food on the plate!
The end!
