Dec. 1, 2022 — Press release from the Burlington Performing Arts Centre
Perhaps the oldest Canadian Rock band, Trooper, will be performing for one night only at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. This is a show not to be missed. On Thursday, February 23, 2023, the band that has been rocking Canadian and U.S. stages for over 45 years will rock the BPAC Stage performing hits such as “The Boys in the Bright White Sportscar,” “Raise a Little Hell,” “We’re Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time),” and “Janine.” These are the songs that will forever live on for Canadians who love a great rock-pop classic!
“This season, BPAC has been able to present many tremendous rock icons for our patrons and there is something very special about bringing iconic Trooper to our stage” says Tammy Fox, executive director. “The legacy that Trooper brings, their ability to connect with audiences as well today as they did over 40 years ago, is something not many bands can boast. With so many recognizable hits Trooper brings an action-packed show to the stage, a concert that speaks to generations of music lovers.”
Whether you saw Trooper in 1975, enjoyed them at an outdoor music festival in the 90s or have never seen them perform at all, the Trooper concert is one that will leave lasting memories for all who attend! “They’ve won practically every Canadian music award possible and they’ve been dubbed ‘Canada’s Greatest Party Band’…and rightfully so,” writes Dan Brisbois of canadianbands.com. Even after four and a half decades, Trooper shows sell out to multiple generations of fans!
Trooper’s ten studio albums have earned multiple gold and platinum awards and their 6X Platinum greatest hit, Hot Shots, continues to be one of Universal Music Canada’s best selling catlog CDs and one of the country’s most enduring party soundtracks. In celebration of the band’s 35th anniversary, a totally updated and re-mastered collection — Hits from 10 Albums — was released, featuring songs spanning the entirety of their recording career. They have won a Juno for Band of the Year, and have been nominated for more. Trooper has been recognized repeatedly for being the Canadian legend that they are!
Tickets went on sale today, November 30, for BPAC members and will be open for public sale on Friday. It is not too late to purchase your membership and choose your seats early!

Is there a band more perfect to enjoy leading up to St. Patrick’s Day than The Irish Rovers? Due to popular demand, BPAC has added a second performance to the weekend of March 11 and 12, 2023. With an almost sold out show on Saturday, March 11, a second show has been added on Sunday March 12, at 4 p.m.
Canada has been the home to The Irish Rovers since the early 60s and their first international hit, “The Unicorn.” They went to twenty years of international television shows and many ore hits. Millar says, “It’s been a bit odd, being from both Ireland and Canada. At times I’ve felt like a man with no country.” The lead to the song, “Band Without A Country” from their 2020 album Saints And Sinners, which tells the history of this ‘band from God knows where!’.
Tammy Fox says, “Every time The Irish Rovers perform on our stage there is a buzz of excitement and anticipation both back stage and in the theatre. This is a band that genuinely loves performing, sharing their music and coupling it with entertaining stories that brings the audience to tears of laughter. There isn’t a person sitting still in that theatre when the Rovers come to BPAC and we are thrilled to have them back again this year!”
If you are a member at BPAC, do not miss your chance to pre-purchase your seats Wednesday and Thursday this week. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday.
