The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Government of Ontario have reached a tentative deal, so workers will be reporting to work as usual tomorrow.
Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board have both issued statements on their websites that schools will be open to in-person learning as normal in light of this information.
Annual wage increases of $1 per hour were agreed upon, an increase of about 3.59% each year, though the new funding that CUPE was looking for to increase staffing levels in classrooms is not part of the deal.
CUPE members must still ratify the deal; voting is likely to begin on Thursday of this week, and be completed by the weekend.
