Unofficial results of last night’s election have Matthew Diodati elected as the new Halton District School Board trustee for Burlington Wards 1 and 2.
Diodati beat out Sebastian Dumitrescu-Georgescu and Omar Kayed with over 55% of the vote.
Mr. Diodati is a 39- year-old financial services worker employed by a major bank. He lives in Aldershot and has children in the school system.
“I want to do my best to make sure that children of all ages have the most opportunities available to them,” said Diodati during the campaign.
The trustee position for west Burlington became open with the retirement of Leah Reynolds.
