Sept. 20, 2022 — Press release from Community Living Burlington
On Saturday September 24th at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington, Community Living Burlington (CLB) is hosting their 42nd annual Walk n’ Roll. The event is CLB’s largest fundraiser of the year.
CLB is a charitable organization whose mission is to enrich the quality of life for people with a developmental disability. Their goal is to raise $40,000. All proceeds will help CLB purchase a wheelchair-accessible van that will help to promote inclusion in our community for the people we support.
“This is the first time we are hosting this event in person since 2019, and are excited to see everyone come out and work together to raise money for this amazing initiative.” — Emily Huang, Senior Manager of Community & Resource Development.
Walk n’ Roll is a family-friendly event that promotes diversity and inclusion for all. There will be tons of fun-filled activities, live musical performances, food, prizes, and much more!
Individuals and teams can register for Walk n’ Roll by creating a fundraising page at www.clburlington.ca/walknroll. It’s the perfect event to enjoy with friends, family or coworkers for some friendly competition for an amazing cause. There are also options to make a one-time donation to the Walk n’ Roll fundraising campaign.
CLB’s Annual Walk n’ Roll event is typically hosted in May but has been pushed to September 24 to ensure the safety of participants during the pandemic. The agency is excited to return to celebrate in person after three long years! CLB encourages participants to wear a mask, if possible, to stop the spread of COVID-19.
CLB would like to thank their sponsors, including The Foundation of Human Development, Stichting Retourschip, MedPro Direct, Smith’s Funeral Home, Cowan Group, Innomotive Solutions, Mountainside Auto Tech, Print Three, and Starbucks for making Walk n’ Roll possible!
“The Foundation for Human Development is honoured to support Walk n’ Roll in its 42nd year to raise funds and awareness for Community Living Burlington. CLB is one of Burlington’s oldest non-profit organizations in Burlington and they should be so proud of the work they do in our community. There is much to celebrate at this year’s event.” — Cathy Thomson, Foundation for Human Development
