Now that we have completed interviews with the new candidates for Ward 3 councillor, we want to be sure that voters have the information that they need before voting opportunities begin.
First, be sure you are on the voters list. The list for a municipal election is NOT the same as the provincial or federal voters list. For Burlington’s upcoming municipal election, you can check online at https://myvote.burlington.ca/en/for-voters/voters-list/
If you need to be added to the list (or removed) or need to change or update your information, visit the Brant Hills Branch Library or the Kilbride Branch Library from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday or Saturday to fill out the required application. Before October 22, take an original piece of identification with your name and address. This makes voting day much smoother for everyone. Kudos to the city and library staff for making the branch library available for revisions.
Once you are on the voters list, you will be able to vote online from October 11–20 or in person at advance polls on Saturday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 18 or in person on election day Monday, October 24.
As a reminder, here are the candidates running for councillor, Ward 3:
- Jennifer Hounslow
- Luke McEachern
- Rory Nisan. Rory is the incumbent councillor and his website is rorynisan.ca
