The Aldershot Lions Club this week donated $5,000 to the Burlington Food Bank.
Hunger is one of the world-wide Lions’ global causes that has been embraced by the local club.
The Aldershot Lions have been providing support to the Burlington and Aldershot communities for nearly 60 years.
Accepting the cheque this week was Robin Bailey, executive director of the food bank. He explained that his organization helped about 12,000 individuals this year. The vital organization has four full-time staff and a small army of volunteer supporters.
The Burlington Food Bank is located at 1254 Plains Rd. E., Unit 1A.
This is not the first time the Aldershot Lions Club has donated to the Burlington Food Bank. Other donations were made during the pandemic.
