Candidate nominations closed at 2 p.m. on August 19. That is the same timing that any candidate who filed a nomination had to withdraw their nomination. One nomination was withdrawn (from the Halton District School Board race for Wards 3 and 6 trustee). The clerk has until Monday, August 22 at 4 p.m. to certify or reject each nomination (Municipal Elections Act, s. 35).
If there is only one certified candidate running for an office at 4 p.m. on August 22, that candidate will be declared elected by acclamation (MEA, s. 37). From the list below, it appears that Dominique Janssens, trustee for the French Catholic school board and Gregory Pierre, trustee for the French public school board, are expected to be the only acclamations.
