COVID-19 couldn’t keep Santa away from Aldershot. The jolly old man and his wife turned up in the afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2020, to celebrate the annual Village Tree Lighting. At the same time, Mr. and Mrs. Claus accepted food donations for the Compassion Society, which is based in Aldershot. Donors simply drove up in their cars and handed over the goodies. Social distancing was observed by the small crowd that joined the celebration.
The tree lighting is an annual event sponsored by the Aldershot Village Business Improvement Area (B.I.A.).
The special Christmas tree is located at the corner of Downsview and Plains Road E.
